The University of Malawi is inviting applications for a two-year Master of Science programmes in Biostatistics and Social Statistics. The programmes will be coordinated by the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the Faculty of Science at Chancellor College. The programmes will run for 4 semesters, and will consist of taught courses and research resulting in a dissertation and paper manuscript writing.
Applicants to be considered under this programme should have a Bachelors degree in fields of either Mathematics or Statistics or Demography with at least a credit or a pass and two years of relevant experience or a pass and a relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent qualifications from recognized universities.
Successful applicants will be required to pay K500,000 per year (or a total of K1,000,000.00 to complete the course). This excludes funds that will be required for research work. Classes for the next intake on this programme will commence in September 2011.
