The University of Malawi is pleased to announce that the Congregation for the 2008/2009 Academic Year will be held on Wednesday 25th August 2010 in Blantyre at the College of Medicine Sports Complex Ground starting from 8:00 a.m.
The Chancellor of the University of Malawi and the State President His Excellency Ngwazi Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, will preside over the Congregation.
Rehearsals for the Congregation will be held on Tuesday 24th August 2010 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the College of Medicine Sports Complex Ground.
Academic Dress for the Congregation shall be available for hire from Monday, 16th August, 2010 at the respective colleges where graduates are coming from or at the venue on Monday 23rd August, 2010.
The hire charges are as follows:
Diplomates/Certificates : K400,
Bachelors : K600,
Masters : K800,
PhD : K1000.
All those candidates who owe the college money should settle the amounts by 6th August, 2010 failure which they will not be allowed to process for graduation. Candidates should contact their respective colleges for invitation cards for their guardians or parents. Candidates who require photography services should register with the academic office at the University office since only identified photographers will be allowed.
All candidates must return their academic dress at the end of the function. Unreturned academic dress will attract a penalty fee of K5,000 for the first day delay. Each subsequent day after the first day shall attract a penalty fee of K200 payable before the release of the certificate.
