 Welcome to the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences (UNIMA) web page. The department is within the faculty of Science with major focuses on Earth Systems Science, Geo-Information and Earth Observation and Physical and Human Geography. We proud ourselves to be a Multi-Disciplinary Department with research and teaching expertise spanning a wide range of disciplines from the Social to the Natural Sciences. We offer some of the unique courses in Traditional and Health Geography, Indigenous knowledge Systems and Natural Resources Management, Water Sciences and Hydrological Extremes, Geology and Metallogeny and Regional and Urban Planning. This worth of knowledge is vital in order to face the different challenges currently facing all sectors of the Globe. We are a center of excellence and run a number of programs including Bachelors and a Masters by research program to meet the needs of those in busy working environments. We also contribute to the faculty based Masters in Environmental Sciences program.The department has various links with Local, Regional and International Organisations and Institutions and is engaged in various research activities.
