University of Malawi : Chancellor College

The department is one of the oldest in the University of Malawi, having made its first appearance as the Department of Human Behavior. The staff have specialisation in Rural Sociology, Medical Sociology, Criminology, Urban Sociology, Education and Development.
The number of students enrolled in Sociology courses has increased dramatically over the years. Some of those registering for sociology courses have come from other faculties, especially Humanities.
Apart from the Undergraduate programmes, the department has a part-time MA Programme. There are currently two students on the programme.
