Profile

Dr Lewis Chezan Bande is an Associate Professor of Law in the Department of Foundational Law, within the School of Law, Economics and Government. His main areas of teaching and research are criminal law, criminal procedure and evidence, cybercrime, criminal justice, international cooperation in criminal matters and law of inheritance. He has authored 3 books on Malawi's criminal law, criminal procedure and law of inheritance. He has worked with the University of Malawi since 2004. He has previously served as Deputy Dean and Head of Department. He holds a Doctor of Laws degree from KU Leuven (Belgium), Master of Laws degree from Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from University of Malawi (Malawi).
