Profile

Born and raised in Malawi, Lucius is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Malawi where he teaches Econometrics and Financial Economics. A believer in finding local solutions to local problems, he is interested in understanding financial systems of least developing nations like Malawi where markets are inefficient or are missing altogether. Consequently, his research interests are in Financial Economics and Financial Econometrics. Recently, he has conducted research independently and corroboratively with researchers from diverse backgrounds. He has also worked with different international organisations and other organisations and institutions involved in high-level research and development. A citizen of Malawi, he obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Malawi. He also holds a certificate in Policy Impact Analysis obtained from the University of Laval, Canada.
