Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Staff Associate/ Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor in Early Childhood Development (ECD) in the Human Ecology Department at the University of Malawi.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or PhD in early childhood development (ECD), early childhood education (ECE), early childhood special needs education, child and youth studies, or any other relevant field of study, obtained from an institution recognized by the University of Malawi. Applicants should have obtained a first degree in Early Child Development or related fields such as Family and Consumer Sciences, Family Studies with Credit or Distinction. Those with relevant experience in teaching and research will have an added advantage.

Duties and responsibilities

Successful candidates for this position will be undertaking, among others, the following duties: 

• Teaching and supervising students.

• Conducting research in the area of specialization.

• Participating in all academic and professional activities of the Department, School, and University.

• Initiating and participating in income-generating activities in the Department, School, and University.

• Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
